Portraits

i've been working on portraits as
an ongoing project.
learning to direct people, to be in their personal space,
gain their trust
while hopefully capturing a tiny piece of their essence.

this self-portrait is very dear to me
as it was the last shot my trusty old camera took
before it died...

The beautiful world we live in...

i believe it is possible to find beauty
everywhere.
even on a building site!

Dawn

before the sun,
a quiet, ethereal moment on the beach

Quote and ceramics

"I AM SIMPLY LOOKING FOR BEAUTY, WHATEVER THAT IS - IT'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE EXPLAINED - ONLY FELT. IF I FIND IT IN A SINGLE BOWL, OR WANDERING LINE OF POTS, GOOD. I AM GRATEFUL."

-POTTER, GWYN HANSSEN PIGOTT

with technology ;)
from my old dinosaur phone to iphone,
what a pleasure!

first thing i did is get instagram

around here...

can't have an iphone without
a pretty cover... found a funky orla kiely one!

Towards a Personal Vision - Personal Project

this is my personal project,
i chose "Paths" as a theme.
where do they come from, where do they take us
what do we encounter along the way...
where am i going?

it is a series of 6 small prints with words.

i couldn't load the whole project without scanning it;
i'm not sure this make it justice
but you get an idea.

Happy weekend!

Towards a Personal Vision - Light

Working with the landscape,
light in the mist & a touch of zen.

Towards a Personal Vision - Night

night photography...
some beautiful and dramatic effects.

Towards a Personal Vision - Abstract

to get us out of our comfort zone
we were asked to shoot without looking
through the viewfinder...

fun abstract photographs...

Towards a Personal Vision

i'm back from the photographic
course with Angela Buckland,
Towards a Personal Vision.

i had a rich, challenging, exhilarating
experience...
learnt so much, letting it all sink in...

this entire week will be
dedicated to the photographs i took
during the workshop.

Trip

i'm on my way to
a week's photo course

i had to select 20 photos that represent
my interest in photography.
here are 4 of them;
off center snippets of life...

i'll see you back here next week!
