first steps

our first day of etching went so fabulously well!  

there was a lot of learning, 

preparing, 

grasping a whole new concept. 

the copper plates need to be filed, 

buffed and polished. 

here is  Roz, at the buffing machine, 

fully into it: 

and Maggie, sketching her warthog so she can

paint the white negative space in black...  

a brain twisting exercise let me tell you:

the acid baths:

and a first test print

of course i loved every minute of it!
