thirsty

coming from the drought we've been experiencing
here is South Africa, i arrived in Switzerland feeling
like a thirsty bird ;)

i admired every swollen river and stream,
every forest felt so incredibly lush!

and i was there early enough for all the wild flowers...

such a treat...

close up

i still believe it, fiercely...
"love is in the details"

Gentianes et Anémones

little mountain miracles, after months under the snow nature sings in so many gifts.

i'm back

i'm back. i've been back for a little while...
but i wanted to dwell in my travelling/holiday vibes
for a little longer.

this is where i was,
in my mountains with my family...

they do still feel like my mountains.
so majestic and familiar.
i guess ones roots always remain, strong.

Nendaz, Switzerland

precious times with special people...
grateful!

see you soon...

"the world is full of magic things,
patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper."
- W.B Yeats

i'm off on a little travel...
see you soon!

morning wonder

i am busy packing,
off for a little holiday in Switzerland to spend some precious time
with my family.

to be honest, the packing is a little confusing,
it's suppose to be summer in the Northern Hemisphere
but it's been rainy and cold.

and here it feels like summer!?
go figure ;)

how magical do our aloes look?
this one in the pot is blooming for the first time,
happy and proud!

Seasons

i drooled over the flower market in Austria.
spring flowers are my favorite,
so fresh, so colorful and full of hope, i could have bought them all!

european spring, my favorite season!

now i'm back in autumn, and it's beautiful too...
and my brain is slightly confused.

 Happy Easter, Joyeuses Pâques
beautiful people!

Helloooooo!

so i've been back for almost a week now...

(embarrassed face below)

for some reason i've been having a "computer block".
i finally edited some photos and i am back :)

we had a fabulous trip,
a big Austria/Switzerland tour,
visiting family, skiing and exploring new places.

we had spring, we had snow, we had sun...
we had many magical moments.

i love how traveling opens the mind and the heart,
fuels creativity and makes for a whole new perspective on life.

Italian Princes

the 3 paintings i completed while in Orvieto.
i love them,
and i love that i can notice Misty's influence
and the new skills she taught us.

small acrylic on paper

big acrylic on paper

small acrylic on canvas

this last one went home to Utah with Lorraine
and that makes me so happy!

El Duomo

it's impossible to talk about Orvieto without
introducing the phenomenal El Duomo,
the 14th-century Roman Catholic cathedral.

glance through the streets

It is flamboyant and breathtaking in its size and beauty...

from above

apparently it took 300 years to complete,
the interior is even more impressive...

and of course i fell in love with the stripes on the outside,
i had never seen a stripy cathedral before,
how exquisite in the morning light!?

truly breathtaking.

enchanted

let me take you on a little virtual tour
of my "Wandering with Passion" week in Orvieto

i'm struggling to put it into words,
it feels that it might shatter the magic of it.

i will simply say that the whole trip was AH-MAZING!!!
i met fantastic people from all over,
Misty's sharing of her talents was incredible to witness live (as opposed to online).

this is all of us from the art group:
at the back left to right: Diana, Robin, Rena, Renee, Lorraine
front left to right: Jeanne Marie (Flowrsinherhair), Dot, me, John, Camilla and Misty on our lap

i didn't get a pic where we all sat still so i stole this one below from Misty

this is the whole gang including husbands, moms, aunts and friends,
missing Bill and Kristin who put this whole week together so beautifully:

the whole experience is still sinking in,
i came home inspired, thrilled and enchanted!
