i now drive to Durban every wednesday 

for art lesson.

i am enjoying discovering and exploring. 

this city is a strange mix of art deco, tropical decay 

and mismatch of renovation... 

bringing my camera from now on! 

Seasons

i drooled over the flower market in Austria. 

spring flowers are my favorite, 

so fresh, so colorful and full of hope, i could have bought them all! 

european spring, my favorite season! 

now i'm back in autumn, and it's beautiful too...

and my brain is slightly confused.

kingdom

my "kingdom' is still a work in progress

 and i am getting closer to completion, 

slowly but surely...

the last two kings, 

Knowledge and Wisdom (in the photo below)

were put in the kiln for a bisque on thursday 

(i hope they made it...). 

i've had two casualties so far... 

(one of them is the tall one on the right above, his one eyes exploded) 

i'm in the process of glazing the rest of them, 

i'm nervous about this part because 

the glaze is such an important part of a piece, 

it can literally make it or break it esthetically. 

 fingers crossed ;) 

i'll keep you posted! 

go gently...

while doing my daily journaling

i am noticing that softness, gentleness 

don't seem to come naturally to me. 

especially not towards myself. 

and yet i am discovering that the best way 

for me to be, to keep moving, to find my feet, 

is to go gently. 

"return to softness again and again"

is becoming my new mantra.

my key to moving one small step at a time, 

my key to hear the quiet whispers within.

tiny miracles

i loved my birthday... 

i had a super special day,

got totally spoilt and felt SO loved!

amongst many other fabulous goodies 

i received this little guys, 

olloclip lenses for my iphone,

  they are AH-MAZING! 

i clip them on my phone and i've got 4 options

(wide angle, fish eye and two marco) 

yesterday i could put them to use

 as this little miracle unfolded in front of my lens...

tiny praying mantis hatching from their "strawy" cocoon

a very "alien" like sight. 

at this stage they are called mantis nymphs, 

they are the size of a small ant, 

captured here with my x10 macro lens.
